On October 7, 2025, we mark two years since Gaza was subjected to a war of genocide. Much has changed in these years—the world has begun to recognize Palestine and Palestinians, but at an unbearable price. Sixty-five thousand souls lost, entire neighborhoods erased, and yet Gaza has carried the weight of a century of decolonization in just two years. Gaza has changed the world, but the sacrifice is immense.
Taawon has changed too. From day one of this aggression, Taawon mobilized and has never stopped. Our people—the true heart of our work—give meaning to every effort. They embody resilience and hope, even as they endure loss and displacement. Our frontline teams and delivery partners are the powerhouses of this organization, working under the daily threat of bombs, checkpoints, and destruction, yet standing tall against erasure.
Your generous support and guidance have enabled us to reach new frontiers. Even in the darkest of times, Taawon has built bridges, expanded its network of affiliated offices, and nurtured a growing global community of allies and partners. I know we can—and must—do more. Palestine and Palestinians need it. As we reflect, I extend my deepest gratitude—to our staff, our members, and to all of you who walk with us.
Together, we will carry this mission forward—with dignity, resilience, and unwavering hope.
Dr. Tareq Emtairah,
Director General, Taawon
