"We lost so much in this war. In addition to the friends, relatives, and neighbors that we lost, we also lost our homes. Our homes were our security, they were our memories. When the ceasefire started, we discovered our house was nothing but a pile of rubble. Everything in our houses holds memories - the pictures of our children growing up, my mother’s thob that I consider my most valuable belonging, the 50-year old olive tree in our garden, the rose bush that I nurtured and watch bloom.
